Most of the good hedge funds require even bigger deposits (over 250k). It's the shit ones who have the lower requirements. And those tend to underperform the S&P 500. So you are just better off putting it into a regular index fund for the plebs.

Im starting something small since im only a broke college kid.You're efforts on pennystocks is futile, it's pointless nobody gets wealthy on there. Penny will give you bidaar (baldness) early age.

@Duke of Harshaw Commodities (incl. Gold and Silver) are in a long term down trend. It started around 2011 (remember the Arab Spring when food prices were high?). Almost all commodities peaked around that year and now they will drop for a good 15 years. I wouldn't go near commodities for at least a decade. Gold is currently only nice to trade when Fed Chairs make statements causing temporary volatility in them. Not great holds.
