Where they Somalis? I have heard conflicting theories about the ethnicity of these folks. I was watching this video,
and down in the comment section, someone was claiming that the Macrobians where Ethiopians and some were saying that they were not Somalis. These are some comments ( by the same person) in the comment sections:

the guy in the comments was not ethiopian he was a Madow

not suprised since they dont have a history to be proud of while an ethiopian does anyhow

The Macrobians were not Ethiopians but Pre Somali people. The descriptions given match more with Somalis than with ethiopians. The ethiopians had the Kingdom of Dmt around the when Macrobia was formed. The Pre Somali people mostly had a writing system and a calandar which is the precursor of the Somali Solar calendar which were lost after it fell and the City states were formed.

Macrobians are most likely mythical and not a historical people

That can be a possibility also since the existence of a fountain youth sounds mythical. But they could have been real and exaggerated.

There was no west african kingdom before the common era. The first ones appear in 7th century AD. The only kingdoms then were Sahel Kingdoms.
