Historic inspiration for modern government buildings?

One of the 19th century residences of Boqor Osman Mahmoud has a beautiful intricately designed interior. This made me think; why hasn’t this majestic style been replicated for the interiors of modern government buildings across Somalia?

Somalia’s wood and stone carvers should be having contracts after contracts across the country for the interiors of government buildings, residences, cafes, museums, etc and even commissions in other countries if life was fair to them;
