History of Arabic poetry

As an Arab myself I would like to know your opinion on Arabic poetry as Arab really love poetry and quite proud of their language and been writing poetry more then
2000 years
This is a report I read it a while ago on Arabic poetry and that the origins of poetry go back to Yemen

The interesting thing is that Arabs still understand the language of their poetry despite the passage of all these centuries

Of course Al-Mutanabbi and Imru' al-Qais were the greatest
My favorite is this one by Abu Talib when the Prophet and Banu Hashim were besieged
