You guys r fuelling their hatred hg n murusade, their already working part time with shabab and part time with govt, they dominate the leadership of the organisation and use foot soldiers like .5 and rahanwayne for the assault while they hide away in the organisation cause they don't want a clan war with abgaal so the .5 and rahanwayn foot soldiers serve that purpose.

Listen brother jungle, you need to settle this issue of Mogadishu. Is it a capital for all Somalis, is a capital for certain Somalis like hawiye or is it an abgaal city and the rest must behave. These are the underlying issues causing ppl to join shabab, hg n murusade n isaaq don't even conceal it, darods are in there also but very few in comparison.

Shabab main recruitment idealogy is a mix but locals join it for varying reasons like rahanwayne and .5 it's thru fear of harm to themselves or family. Where as hg and murusade join willingly not due to threats lol and they operate at the leadership level. Their could be some who join out of hatred for gaalo especially from the diaspora but that's it really the motivations.

I know if hg n murusade left the whole thing would be over in a single day but they don't because let's be frank, their not comfortable with abgaal in Mogadishu leading it. I really do think you need a hawiye reconciliation, hawiye will be much stronger if achieved and then somali reconciliation after that. You need to behave like a landheere and hold reconciliation for hawiye sub clans. If HSM did that I'd be the first say his the greatest president post civil war. U just can't allow this issue to simmer away as ppl then resort to plotting and mistrust. The status quo tho will just allow for shabab to exist.and exploit these grievances for its own ends which are of course Arab interests.

The other option is defund their areas do not allow economic development there and let it become a ghetto and they will eventually leave or full out war from abgaal with the goal of total disarmament and they resort to civilian status. but the status quo won't work u need to make a decision eithet a hard one or soft one such as reconcilation is your choice.

Good post discussing the power struggle between Hawiye in Xamar, especially the grievances of HG/Mursade after the Ethiopian invasion were Abgaal allied themselves with the Tfg government. However, you must realise Abgaal even if they are a majority in Xamar and have the support of the international community they still can't claim the city to themselves.

Mursade are largely indigenous to Xamar and Deyniile areas. A lot of HG may have come in after the civil war, but they are a now a sizable second majority in Xamar and live predominantly in the most economically developed areas in Xamar.

Xamar HG ama muursade ma la xoogi karo and that's the reality....only reconciliation and working together will bring about a sustainable governance.

Its only a small minority of HG that are part of shabab considering their size. They have shown a willingness to fight Shabab since its inception and lost thousands of men freeing their land

Murusade fought the hardest against the Ethiopians. All the major battles were fought on our back yard. Duduble were the 1st to back us followed by Ceyr and Salebaan.

This guy is talking about defunding Murusade and HG areas as if those parts of Xamar aren’t the most prosperous. It isn’t a coincidence that the mixed parts of southern Mogadishu are more expensive and developed than north Mogadishu. Why? Because no one wants to live in an area where they are surrounded by another clan. Property values and development north of Abdiaziz are terrible because only Abgaal are willing to live in a sea of Abgaal. Even Madiino is much cheaper than neighboring Wadajir. Dayniile as well until the road was built. Now you’re seeing more mixing there, which has further boosted property prices. Anyone who lives in Mogadishu know it’s better for them to live in mixed areas rather than a clan ghetto. I support further mixing in xamar. It helps smooth over wounds from the civil war and increases brotherly ties among brotherly people.
