Homosexuality law in Somalia from 1964-1991

Being gay in Somalia was not a crime but the act was. It was illegal for both male and female.

Homosexual intercourse was punished with prison between 3 months and 3 years.

However, if it was not intercourse but some other kind of gay act, I assume oral sex, the punishment would be reduced by a third.

This was very leinent for those times (1964). I have a feeling gay marriage would be legal in Somalia in 2017 if there wasn't a war.

Very interesting.

Quintessentially negroid: Your problem?
In Somalia today no-one cares if you're gay as long as you don't kiss or grope in public. What you do in your house is your business. I had a possibly gay teacher in Somalia and no-one cared. I told my adeer and he said its not his problem. If you want to get married, find a sheikh thats willing and you are married. Somalia will never make homosexuality illegal.

Trump said he won't tolerate LGBTQ discrimination. His words.

Between his flip-flopping and his alt-right colleagues then I highly doubt it. His supporters will also want him not to.

But if does, I'll welcome it and hope he cuts Somalia's aid. Aid is destroying our Agricultural sector.

That's the Islamic Shariah. Anyone can do anything in the comfort of their privacy. The problem is when you bring out forbidden things onto the open. Drinking alcohol in the open is illegal, but you can do it inside your home in privacy. Same goes for other acts. If you do it in private, it is between you and your Creator. If you do it in public, it is a matter that will be handled publicly.
