How can we improve Somalia?

Firstly, install a secular govt. Give people basic human rights. Let people believe what they want believe.

Secondly, send back the brightest and smartest from the West to fix Somalia's problem. By mapping out a strategic plan on how the country will be fixed.

Thirdly, give the people birth control pills / shots, so they aren't breeding like rabbits

Combine all these factors and you have a recipe for success.


But Tribalism + Extreme Islam are the only things holding us back from moving forward.

We should all remember that Somalia used to be called the Pearl of Africa, signifying the beauty that is to our ancestral lands, and with that in mind we should see our land as a pearl that needs it polish once again, because it contains everything we need as people to live and prosper and grow from :)


I would like to see Somalis come together trough dialog and reconciliation followed by a mandate by the people to the great leaders that await their places in our government and it is already being done in big and small ways in our federal states and I think it is possible to bring to the national stage :)

Back to the question. Id say providing schooling from age 5 to university level for free or reduced price so that we have more educated people in Somalia.

Lol YEA, more FREE stuff.

it's not that simple. If it was, then every poor country would do.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room: IQ. There people in Somalia walking around with an IQ of 70. These people can't function in civilized society. Thats why my idea of sterilizing people who aren't meant to have babies is the best option . It's gonna hurt lot of feelings, but we have to separate feelings from logic. Logic is what gets you somewhere.

Sterilisation is immoral, haram and less cost effective than education.

Education pays for itself in future taxes earned and can't be underestimated.

Where will the money for education come from? You need to pay teachers, build schools. That costs lot of money.

Also how you gonna educate someone with an IQ of 78? You believe all humans are equal in terms of intelligence?

Wallahi at this rate, we bound to become worst country in the world. We don't have anything going for us. The land is not good for resource. There's religious extremism and tribalism (states want to separate from the rest of the country).

We're in a state of war right now with the terrorists but once they're gone and the country is secure we'll have tourism and foreign investment. Not to mention be able to drill for oil and mine uranium etc

You did not answer my question. Where will the money for education come from? You know how much the US and other countries spend on education? ALOT.

If they do get good education - will they teach Islam or science? Because you need science to advance. Islam and other religions gives people hope. While science tackles issues in biology, engineering, medicine, chemistry, etc.

Also tourism? LOL. Come on.

All I want is separation between Mosque and state. Keep the religion out of politics. Also keep tribalism out of politics. Teach science in schools. Sterilize people who aren't meant to have babies.

But we're too busy fighting over social issues to move forward. Too busy worrying about people are doing in their private rooms. Too busy worrying about apostates.

Look at countries like US and it's history. They formed because they wanted religious freedom and human rights from the British empire.

IQ can easily be fixed with diet and education it's not even a problem. You all have been on 4chan for too long with all these funky non solutions, get with the real world

How can I become an astrophysicist? By eating right? Lol. Intelligence is fixed just like your height.

While I respect that you are actively looking for solutions. I think your arguement is a very condescending approach, people in Somalia are not as bad as you are making them out to be. Just because someone went to university here in the west does not mean they have all the answers. Somalia is actually underpopulated so I don't understand the birth control logic.

Again I like that u are thinking outside the box, but please don't assume the worst of our people, the only difference between people in Somalia and us, is a plane ride.

  1. Wipe out Shabab.
  2. Stop pandering to extremists.
  3. Make sure anybody who calls themself a sheikh is literate in Arabic/Somali, a xafid, is educated on fiqh, aqeeedah, etc. and isnt obsessed with just guur, xijab, iyo dumar.
  4. Another massive literacy campaign.
  5. A massive women’s health campaign, maternal health especially. Working at the Edna Adan Maternity Hospital a lot of women were dying of treatable conditions such as anemia.
  6. Hand over the country to minority leadership. Us lamagoodle clearly don’t know what we are doing. Give to a woman from a minority clan. And at least 54% of government jobs should be for the youth and especially women.
  7. Wipe out malnutrition, you guys go on about having an IQ of 70 but malnutrition plays a big role in neurodevelopment.
  8. Open up schools where accredited educators teach.
