How come gaalo people have funerals a week or two after someone dies?

Once the autopsy is performed, they should have a funeral right then.

I ask this because Fidel Castro is going to have a funeral on December 4. Who knows when his cremation will even be.

They should bury them as soon as possible and then have the funeral/memorial then without the body there.

Not burying or cremating as quickly as possible is not dignified

don't usually get the body prepped and refrigerated long enough to have those open-casket/closed-casket ceremonies?
