How do you feel about West Africans not considering East Africans

As true Africans. Most AA people who never set foot in Africa always consider West Africans to be true Africans while dismissing East Africa. How come especially Somalis and Ethiopians are not considered African when talking about African affairs. One colleague once said to me when he hears about Africa Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa comes to his mind.
