How European socialism runied the Somali peninsula's economy

A lot of people like to claim that the Somali people inherited good infrastructure and a good economy from their colonizers. To the contrary, the Somali people had been far more economically superior to their neighbors. Berbera was so wealthy by the 19th century standards that it's said 80% of Adens revenue came from Berbera in 1848. What runied the Somali peninsula's economy as well as the economies of the rest of Africa was the intervention of the Europeans in Africa's economy. All the roads and the buildings they built were just white elephants projects. Africa has 4 of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world today when it's running itself that wasn't the case when they were running it. You can observe the effects of the African growth in the social and economical differences between the Somali diaspora in the west and the Somali diaspora in Africa and how they both fare despite the situation of the countries they live in. Here's a lecture by the brilliant professor George Aittey of the prestigious American University in DC explaining how European socialism runied Africa's economy.

Note that denying the things the Europeans have contributed to humanity is not a smart thing to do. However; we are trying here to criticize their economic approach in Africa, an approach when they tried in their countries like East Germany and Poland had the same consequences. If you would ask me about the best solution for Somalia's problem (excluding Somaliland and puntland who are doing good for themselves) I would say to place the whole thing under Italian trusteeship again.

You have nothing to lose but your chains
I know this post is a few months old but what you're describing isn't socialism, its a foreign government making selective investments to maximize profit extraction, that's an example of imperialism. Socialism isn't just when the government does stuff, its the implementation of worker ownership of the means of production.

After the wicked Italian occupation only 5% of somalis could read.
After the 1972 literacy campaign the number got to 60% and over.
You are anti Somali and a traitor to your people
