Outdated. Our fertility is now by far the highest in the world.

Infant mortality is very low in the west so lower birth rates are compensated for.

Somali fertility in the West will converge to that of Westerners in a bit less than a generation. Price to pay of living here, you adopt their good and degenerate habits.

Somalis lack the cultural inoculation against this like Amish or Haredim, unless they come from extremely religious backgrounds.

I think he was mainly talking about the western diaspora. Not our people in Africa.

Yea in the west millennials and gen z are getting married later. Most of us grew up in low income households in the west so young somalis are trying to establish a solid career before getting married.

The only somalis I know that got married between the ages of 18-23 here in the west either worked in the trades or came from middle/upper class families that were willing to help them while they finish college.

For the OGs, it was always a common thing for the men to marry 4 wives, and even the women are pro this to this day. Sh Ali Suufi gave a fatwa like in the late 40s urging all men to marry as many women as they could and have as many kids as they could. that's what I heard from my dad. It's also illegal to make marriage expensive there. My grandpa married 4, and had 30 children but he died at 33. My dad married 13 wives and he's still alive and kicking alhamdulilah. But he only has 19 kids at near 80 years old.
