This is not incorrect, Somalis did fight each other and killed 100s of thousands at this point, and while that's a tragedy in itself, there are things that didn't happen as a result of those wars. We're still the same people, speaking the same language, and the same religion. If Ethiopia invaded and won, with a generation, our language would be scrapped, and before you know it you have all types of Ethiopian ethnic groups settling in between Somali tribes, with the eventual result being us becoming minorities in our own homelands. Just look at what has happened in dirdaba, moyaale and now jigjiga. Somali wars didn't result in mass rape like it would if Ethiopia ever went to war with Somalia won. A war between Somalis is not the same as a war between Ethiopia and Somalia. I suspect a lot of you are from the south and you lot underestimate how much of a threat Ethiopia is. I mean just them shutting down the two rivers in Somalia is enough to put millions of people at the risk of starvation and death. Don't confuse yourself.

I didn't once make the argument that we're good to each other. In fact if we so weren't cruel to each other, we wouldn't be having the conversation right now. I can count the amount of wars that caused major loss of life and displacement that Somali clans engaged against one another and it isn't a lot. The civil war is era is the biggest, then maybe during the dervishes era. That's about it. Everything else has been skirmishes, taking some geel here, and killing 5 guys. Nothing. I would wager we lost way more from famines and droughts than we did in straight up killing each other, although you could argue famines and droughts are directly caused by the civil war, and you would be right.

For comparison, the Tigray war was only two years long, and more than half a million people were killed in Tigray, more than 100,000 women raped, and 15,000 of them gang raped. I don't think we would ever do anything remotely close to that to each other.

Ethiopians are savages, and we are no match for them when it comes to the cruelties they inflict on each other. This war was only going on for two years, and it was between groups of people who are closer to each other than any of them are to us, which means if we ever went to war with them, you can expect much much worse stuff.
