Ethnic Decentralization and the Challenges of Inclusive Governance in Multiethnic Cities: The Case of Dire Dawa, Ethiopia
It's still a Somali (Dir) city.
Since Oromo are only able to claim it by seducing the Gurgura, but they are genealogically Dir.
Under the Federal Census however the Oromo speaking Gurgura are categorized as Oromo, thus the Oromo group having a so called larger percentage.
No it's not mainly a Ogaden(clan) project. There are many different clans. Also there are still many Somali territories under the Oromo region. But not Dir and other clans? Is DDSI mainly a Ogadeni project?
Yeah most speak Amharigna, but you know Somalis they like to pick up on languages. How do they even talk to/understand each other in places like Dire Dawa and Harar? There are so many different ethnicities there. Do Somalis speak Amharaic or wtf the language is called? Or is there a different lingua franca in places mixed with somalis, oromos, gurage and amharas?
Like what?No it's not mainly a Ogaden(clan) project. There are many different clans. Also there are still many Somali territories under the Oromo region.
I see more and more Ogadens(clan) embracing their Ethiopian nationality.
A lot of Garre, Deegodia, Gugundhabe, Karanle, Sheekhal(Aw Qudub) , Gurgura, Gurre, and Gariire land are still under the Oromo region.Like what?
I was hoping to see a map of regions you was talking about not who they belong toA lot of Garre, Deegodia, Gugundhabe, Karanle, Sheekhal(Aw Qudub) , Gurgura, Gurre, and Gariire land are still under the Oromo region.
