We have openly gay imams, mosques where women lead the prayer to men, and scholars who say homosexuality is genetic ( therefore nothing you can do about it therfore not a sin is the eventual conclusion ).
In Dugsi I was taught the story of the people of Luut who were punished for their degeneracy ( incl the degeneracy of being gay). Currently even in this forum that story is being reframed and retold to say ‘their punishment wasn’t for being gay’ ( as if our interpretation for the last 1400+ years was wrong).
The change is already happening.

This is true I once saw people calling themselves progressive islam. And one time this dude called himself progressive quranist.
Most people acknowledge the wisdom in it and the they feel the need to belive in something bigger. If this was 50 years ago they would have no problem with anything but as time change situation and new knowledge forced them to reackt.
