How much archeological work has been done in Somalia?

For the past 30 years we've been at conflict some way or another. Then before that we were newly independent and we're focused on increasing literacy rates, solving drought, etc. Before that we were under colonial rule.

Everyday I see new threads about some new structure in Somalia, or documents and history. But how much archaeological work has been done? And if extensive work was done, how much do you think we'd find?

I think the reason we don't know much about Somali history from long ago is because there have been no extensive efforts to uncover it.

This is why al shabaab needs to lose, like any extremist group they would destroy any history they find.
