90% of the oil & gas revenue will go to the foreign company and the remaining 10% of it will be squandered by corrupt Somali politicians.
it's part of the so called “fair and balanced.” deal.
Somalia has a debt of 2.3 billion dollars. Idk how that is possible with a failed state.
that is not possible no way .90% of the oil & gas revenue will go to the foreign company(Soma oil) and the remaining 10% of it will be squandered by corrupt Somali politicians.
it's part of the so called “fair and balanced.” deal.
that is not possible no way .
Soma has previously proposed a deal with the Somali government that may grant it as much as 90% of the country’s prospective oil revenue. The company has said that any deal with the government will include terms that are “fair and balanced.”
The World Bank is advising Somalia to put regulations in place to ensure oil resources benefit its citizens, Bella Bird, the Washington-based lender’s director for Somalia, said in an interview.
You know that you're a failure when even fucking Ajnabis can see that you're getting scammed, it doesn't get as low as this. It's 100% true, not making it up.

After the UN and the world bank wanted to block this dumbfounding deal the Somali government came back complaining about infringement of their Sovereignty as if they have sovereignty to begin with and they are still carrying on with it.
Well there goes our dream of being oil wealthy people , instead we will oil poor people.
You know that you're a failure when even fucking Ajnabis can see that you're getting scammed, it doesn't get as low as this.
It's not an issue of incompetence, they are not ignorant. They just don't give a f*ck about their own people and out to look for what they can get for themselves. It doesn't matter if they create a mansions in china and the emirates, while our people starve. It doesn't matter to them if they make ajanabis richer and us poorer, because that is development in their eyes.
Look I myself think Siad barre had many bad qualities, but I can tell you for sure the one good quality the late former pres had was he was really good at protecting our resources and took a wise descision at the time nationalizing and taking somali ownership of business in Somalia. He even put in policies that did not allow foreigners to get citizenship or own business in Somalia.
Many US based oil companies were as far back as the 1940s were already eying Somalias oil reserves. So they would try to strike deals with the Somali government sometimes conducting oil explorations other times being on hiatus and stopping and resuming back forth like this.
So when Siad Barre came to power one US based oil Company by the name Diamond wanted to strike a deal with him and they said :"you will get 15% we will recieve 85% of all oil revenues". Siad Barre was puzzled, what do these chumps take him for " What a have you brought and offered to the table for you to take 85% " he asked And they said "we brought the knowledge, the man power and the equipment. At the time Siad Barre was not man with alot of educated knowledge but he was really street smart.
So Siad Barre Said "Well take your knowledge and your equipment somewhere else"
He actually saved us from being robbed like Kuwait and Nigeria.
Today there are no such people in our govt anymore to protect our resources our the livelihood, Self preservation of our people.
Instead there is this dejavu occurence of another Oil Company trying to rob us with exact same methods and probably be successful at it.

Oil is useless now since its value dropped and is still dropping, so what's the whole point with the addition of giving 90% of the profit away? What a bunch of dumbasses!
Isn't Kenya claiming sovereignty over our EEZ ?You should worry less about oil and gas in Somalia and more about oil and gas in Somalia's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) which is the largest in all of Africa. Somalia's EEZ probably has a very large amount of natural gas and maybe oil. The oil and gas on land cannot be exploited by Culusow because he does not have any power on the ground. But he could take a check from any oil corporation and sign away rights to parts of the EEZ and they could maybe start prospecting. Somalis have no way of stopping this because there is no navy, you might not even know that the rigs were there in the first place. That is a real possibility.
Oil prices are now low, but once they come back up and it becomes economical to drill in somalia's EEZ, I expect surprises!
