There is actually a dispute between Chile and Peru that exactly resembles the one between Somalia and Kenya. The Peruvians have the same argument as Somalia in which the maritime border should be directly aligned with the land border while the Chileans like the Kenyans believe it should be horizontal to it. Well they took their case to the the Hague and the ICJ's final ruling had the them "share" the waters by having the maritime line run 80 nautical miles west from the land border horizontally and after that pointing sharply southwest.
