Somali families can be insufferable. No sense of privacy. If you're the oldest, they treat you like a parent. They act like they did you some favour by letting you exist.
Only upside is that there's a good sense of community and sometimes they can be the best. But those are few and far in between.
My father is very abusive. He still hits me and I'm nearly and adult. and my mother is quite manipulative but I prefer her over my dad.

Yeah conversations with my mom are a lot deeper. She doesn't hit me anymore, it's just my dad. My dad is a joker, he doesn't take anything seriously, he's always talking about moving back to somaliland and once took me there for dhaqan celis RIGHT BEFORE my GCSEs (big exams). Alhamdullilah my mum talked him out of it..
He's very big on obedience to him even when he's obviously wrong and gets angry if you even question him.

That only happens because sometimes the kids show up to schools with shit ton bruises, busted lips. And then their parents go crying saying ”We dindu nuffin” . It doesn’t happen without any reasons. They use to close their eyes to any abuses done by immigrants to their kids. Then around when families started to take their kids to go do FGM in African/Arab countries MENA+Somalia. They intervened

I'm always seeing syrian swedes post videos of child protection services taking their children. Crazy.
Yet Vietnamese/Chinese/Indian parents dont get their kids taken away. They do beat their kids aswell. Theres another element that MENA+Somali parents are not being honest about. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was FGM
