100% I've been trying to suppress these thoughts, but it is evident that the territorial and political decline of the Mogadishu regime serves countless benefits to Somaliland. Whilst I hate AS and any extremist groups, if they undermine the FGS, the international community would have to foster dialogue and cooperate with Somaliland. I'd like to imagine that our Lander friends aren't soulless sociopaths that pray for the suffering of other Somalis all for some political aim but even if that was true, Xamar's chaos still hasn't benefitted SL at all. The main reason SL hasn't been recognized is because there was no government in Somalia to make negotiations with Somaliland. Imagine if Ethiopia for example didn't stablize after the Derg, Eritreans would be stuck in political limbo because Addis Ababa was stuck in chaos. Same deal with Sudan and South Sudan, no one recognizes anything until the country and seperatist state agrees.
