I hate this East African nonsense

You sound ignorant, the Somalis currently residing in these countries aren't online beefing over nonsense. Don't you think there are Muslims in other East African countries as well? This petrol station is run by Somalis, it's in my hometown.

It's as far from Somalia as you can get in a small village (Muhoroni) in Western Kenya. They moved here on their own volition and seem to have settled quite nicely.

I was also surprised to find a Somali restaurant owner settled among the Kalenjin when I visited Kericho (also in Western Kenya /Rift Valley). I asked a Kale to take me to a restaurant where I can taste traditional Kalenjin food. Low and behold, a Somali man with a big smile walks out serving me Mursik. A person with your mindset will never make it anywhere in life because you have a miserable attitude. If Somalis feel like "Madows" are so different then why are they moving to our towns/villages? I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't move somewhere I didn't feel comfortable.

Migori

Why settle in Southwestern Kenya if you don't want to be around Madows? There is a whole community of Somalis speaking our local language.

Junet Mohamed, Member of Parliament for Suna East in Migori County.

As you can see below, his wife is fluent in Dholuo, she campaigns regularly. There are literally hundreds of Malis just like like her.

I find it so interesting how your knee-jerk reaction is that the original poster doesn't want to be "around Madows" or that there is beef?

There is this bizarre projection and inferiority complex that gets triggered when Somalis try to preserve their existence. Yes, we are different. What's wrong with that? Why is it offensive???
What do we have in common? Do you even realise that Somalis don't even feel close to Cushitics such as Oromos?

Moreoever, when Somalis live in Kenya, it's because Somalis have been forced to live in Kenya as NFD is occupied. Therefore, Somalis have the right to enjoy all the commercial interests possible. The same way that Kenyans are employed in Somalia and enjoy those financial interests.

This Pan-African/Pan-East African identity nonsense is easy for people of Bantu extract. They can look at someone from a random African country and find a bunch of things they have in common. Food, dances, and I'm sure other cultural similarities. Not surprising, as they share the same roots. That's why I think a Somali will be weirded out by the term 'East African face/food/culture' etc, but someoone from a Bantu background may not.

Humans have evolved to recognise and favor in-group members based on familiarity, as a survival mechanism. This is reflected in concepts like kin selection and ethnocentrism. People generally feel safer and more comfortable around those who share cultural, linguistic, or even physical similarities.

That's why you'll see some Somalis sometimes support Tutsis (partial Cushitic dna). It would be similar to how Somalis would feel when they see another Cushitic person, this familiarity. If we didn't have land disputes/historic beef with the Oromos for example, I'm sure we'd feel less hostile towards one another and even discuss things like "Horner" Identity.

I don't understand why Somalis are gaslit over not feeling an imaginary bond with people, because we live on the same side of the continent or even in the same location. Beenta iigu daran.

You wouldnโ€™t be saying that if you knew what they do to Somalis in Yemen

It's disgusting isn't it? These Ana Arabs can't help but shame us all over the internet.

What does a Somali have to do with a Yemeni? Historic trade and migration means nothing. Somalis migrate and trade all over the world. I am fed up with this fake association with Yemen and it also emboldens these people to migrate to our land, and feel at home. As if they have a legal or historic precedent to be around us. Dadkaan waa nalagu kibriyay and I blame these Ana Arabs and these people who have been force-fed LIES.

I have a strong suspicion that when Islam was introduced to us, it was done with an agenda to make Somalis into 'Ana Arabs', hence the fake origin stories and abtiris. The greatest crime against the Somali identity.

East Africa is the region where Somalia is located. We are "different" just like every other ethnicity on the African continent, so stop acting like we're unique in that regard

The poster is not saying it to be hostile. It's to assert the facts and discuss it. Because all over social media, Somali culture/clothing is being co-opted under this fake name. That's why today you'll find an Indian from Kenya selling Somali clothing under 'African clothes' and 'East African' clothes. But she will never sell her Sari under those names. They respect their own roots, and disrespect ours. And it's all thanks to Somalis, who don't know how to gatekeep.

That's what Shaydhan said about the Adam upon creation, she called him ABD or a slave to desires, urges and crimes and ever since then Black color has forever been tagged as evil. Noah tried to tame it by making it slave to other slaves. Adam was Black and Hawa was White I think not this.modern white just lighter black maybe. All light skinned ppl went thru hawa and black skin thru Adam, well genetically not emotionally as we're all hawas and spiritually adamic.

Rasuulullaah SCW said โ€œIndeed Allaah created Aadam from a fistful He Took from all the Earth, so the sons of Adam came to the extent of the earth [i.e. they reached the ends of the land]. Among them came the red [man], and the white [man], and the black [man], and between that [of skin colour], and the flat and the rough [alt. the easy and the hard], and the wicked and the wholesome.โ€ (He added in the hadith of Yahya โ€œand between that.โ€)
