I saw something uncommon today

I was speaking to my Vietnamese colleague and she was messaging her husband online.

He's a white guy.

Looking at her screen for a moment, I see his full name. His last name is the same as his wife's Vietnamese last name.

If his last name was Li or something I wouldn't have thought anything of it but it's some really Asian name.

How common is it for a man to take his wife's last name? I've never seen this before.

Li is Chinese surname, not Vietnames.

I gave an example. Li is not her last name. I said Li because it could be a white persons name.

I do more progressive things than taking someone else's last name.

It's becoming more and more common. I personally think people should keep their own names
