I wish my parents didn’t enforce hijab and abaya on me.

I’ve been wearing the hijab and abaya/goono since I’ve been three. I literally don’t remember a time where I have been outside and I have no worn the hijab.

Going through my preschool, kindergarten, elementary photos I feel sad cause I was the only girl from a Muslim background who wore the hijab. Even when other Muslim girls started wearing the hijab they still got to wear pants and I was so jealous because I can’t.

I literally remember when we were in middle school we had uniform and my aabo bought me a long sleeve shirt to wear under my school shirt because he considered it short and a goono in matching school pants color.

Idk. May Allah make it easier for me.

In the western world, you cannot afford to let western ideas of modesty get anywhere near your children. Getting your child adjusted to the hijab could possibly be one the most valuable things you could ever do for her. The biggest trap for a women is her beauty and revealing it only leads to worser sins.

Hijab on kids shouldn't be a thing. Only after 15-16. Should also never be forced.
Girls typically hit puberty around 11/12 so i would say under 11 somali parents shouldn't put hijab on their daughters full time. Only when they're going to islamic classes or when they're training on how to pray.
