I would love to see Somali music made in different genres

I just saw a post about Pakistani rock and Iraqi shoegaze and they were sooo good. We need more Somali songs in rock, 90s/2000s rnb, shoegaze, even phonk would be nice.

A Somali rnb or shoegaze song would absolutely hit :pacspit:

Are younger Somalis in bands these days? I meet adults who can play instruments but never any kids.

Back in the 70s we did experiment with music for instance that how we got Somali jazz and Somali disco music. We were opened minded them because we had Islam and state affairs separated, but now people have become closed minded due to that. The Western Somali's have to induce music with these type genres to people and then create our own.

Somalis (minus diaspora) are not as creative of a people unless they copy others. I'd love to see more creativity in music, art, fashion, and architecture. We're just like copy and paste people.
