This city is exactly in the lowest point of the Shebelle valley! no wonder why it is always flooding in rainy seasons.
The best we could do is to move the ppl from the valley and situat them on higher elevation and then make a dam.
The place is perfect for a dam and reservoir.

Yes Baledweyne is located in a plain area that was irrigated by floods. It is an agricultural area but we cannot move this large city to another place just as DDS moved Mustahil city to an elevated area and named it Mustaqiim.
Now they are talking about to excavate and dig up the bottom of the river and expand it but I think the best solution is to transfer the river to the west of the B u u n d o weyn neighbourhood and strengthen the defenses of the Howlwadaag neighbourhood they both are located west of the river. B u u n do w e y n is Hawadle so after this transformation it will be in Bariga.

This will reduce the risk of flooding in the east of the city by 90%

Ex mustahil moved next the mountains. Baladweyne have expanded to the mountains already majority of the displaced people dont need aid bc they have shops and every thing. City is expanding to the mountains close to the airport and UN and Amisom bases
