This reminds me of my mom. Her mother said a woman isnt worth anything and tht her sons would be the ones taking care of her. Yet tht didnt happen..my mothers the only 1 who does and still she isnt respected by her. Its some sad ish.

Forced marriages is not very common in traditional Somali culture, so there any really an element of forced aspect behind Somali relationships. Women usually are free to pick their partners and in the past they would go distances to find suitors if that may be.
Any type of rape as researchers have seen is seen as shameful and people osctracised for it. It happens less outside of conflict/displacement zones
This is why you don't see much reporting of it happening, because in Somali households women have greater autonomy.
'Xoogikara' or whatever that troll poters on this forum desribe, it's not an attitude Somalis actually share or familiar with.
I would say that if you interviewed any group in East Africa, Ethiopians would be more likely to not see a problem with it
It's because in traditional Ethiopian culture they abduct women to force them into marriage and rape and its prevalent amongst 62% nationally.

Ive seen the somalis in somalia talk about it on youtube videos and tiktok. One lady farxiya talked about marital rape and males and females attacked her saying it doesnt exist. Thts how i know wht their opinion is.
Idk wht planet u live on. First i didnt talk about forced marriage which also does happen but i talked about their belief on marital rape. Somalia does not believe it exists. This is a fact. Not only does the religion not allow it but i was talking Somali traditional culture and those attitudes or beliefs is not really shared.
