If your parents didn't swim to where you are now, what Diaspora would you like to be part of?

I'm bored and I'll start. I was born in Toronto and grew up there, and now live in the UK, so I have kind of a multifaceted diaspora experience, and won't talk out of my fuuto of places I haven't been. But the place I grew up in was a crime infested ghetto shi*hole, so its not fair to compare it to the nice part of london i live in now, cause there are deffo some ghetto parts in london too. But in general comparing both, I'd prefer London. But I'm for sure heading back to Canada mainly due to affordability, but Toronto pricing is going crazy up too.

So to answer, I prefer the UK, but I would love to be reer Aussie, they seem to be the most chilled and i visited my Auntie and family there, and the quaility of life down there is better than any place i've been, the vibes are good, the people are down to earth, and most importantly, crime is rare. theres a lot of african migrants causing chaos, but thats understandable cause they havent been rehabilated well yet. unlike western born zoo malis priveleged to be born in a rich nation but still wildin out, like some londoners knifing one another, and back home in toronto where somalis dying was so normalised we didnt even see an issue much.

answer away ! try not bashing places too much.

thats not what i meant sir, i meant as in substantial amount of somalis living there, and feaisble option that your parents might have gone too. this included, but not limited to: canada, the US, UK, Australia, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and New Zealand I would say most diapsora live here. And there are some in the middle east, but from what I know most usually leave.

these are the official numbers, so we were bound to land in one of these when our parents fled somalia/land, with the probabilty being higher at the top. the numbers look off tho, the UK seems way too high, and the US too low. Canada as well seems low, i felt like somalis were legit everywhere back in toronto, more so than london tbh, but then again london is a huge place and i havent been everywhere yet.

the UAE somalis are the most quiet lmfao, how they more than the canadians and swedes but we hear nothing from them?

Growing up as a Zambian Somali (a few thousand there and they are often business savvy people) or a New Zealand Somali (exclusive and isolated place) would be an interesting experience.

I was born in Toronto but moved to America at young age. Age of 3 actually. I am a proud American and the only other place I would go happens to be my birthplace :leon:

I could have almost grown up as an Italian Somali as my parents entered Europe via Italy and they speak fluent Italian (they are boomers) and almost considered permanently living there,. :whew::ohlord:

There can be only one.

Germany aka the greatest nation and country on earth!
germany is so depressing wallahi lmao i went there on my first europe trip and its not that good, so grey and monotone, and the infrastructure was jarring to my eyes, but then again i dont like any mainland european country thats northern or western. southern europe is lit tho.

you dodged a bullet, i love italy for vacationing and love the men who compliment somali beauty endlessly with their thick accents, although id never look twice at a colonizer. but they are so racist to africans over there, much more so than other europe. throwing bananas at black soccer players is normal there

They lived for six months in Milan (rich part of Italy), but then decided to go to Switzerland.

Depends where you go and what you are into. Where in Germany did you go and what did you do there?
