i was watching her live on CNN. the second she said I'm half yemeni i turned that shit off. she's CANCELED. i support the exposé y'all did
Anyone notice that she labors with her speech. A prolonged pronunciation and this meeker sounding voice as if she's about to lose consciousness
I cringed at that looooooolThe guy was interested in her journey as a refugee to the US. She answered it with one sentence. 'My family came from Kenya as refugees bes'

She seems exhausted and she seems like she's hiding her accent (even though she came at a young age).
Adaa mudan ina abti. I'm questioning her age also. You are one high IQ cat, walahi you solved my bewilderment. Now I now why she labors with her pronunciation

I don't know if she was nervous or what, but that was weird lol

Thanks for the link saxib. She doesn't have a thick accent and having an accent is natural and isn't a problem. She needs a media training. Her personal story as a refugee can win the hearts and minds, she should exploit that. I think she wasn't prepared in the MSNBC
This interview is much better. She starts slow but improves during the interview
Thanks to @Abdalla for link and yes she said she's half Yemeni. Also, according to her Wikipedia page, it also says she's half Yemeni.they haven't posted it yet ill put it here when they do
Omar was born in 1982 in Somalia.[1] She was the youngest of seven siblings, and grew up in an upper middle class household. Ilhan's father, Nur Omar Mohamed, is Somali, and worked as a teacher trainer.[2] Her mother was Yemeni, and died when she was a child.[3] She was thereafter raised by her dad and grandfather.[4] Ilhan's grandfather, Abukar, was the director of Somalia's National Marine Transport, with her uncles and aunts also working as civil servants and educators.[2]After the start of the civil war in 1991, she and her family left the country and spent four years in a refugee camp in Kenya.[5]
thats insignificant. she looks somali and was raised a somali. her yemeni brethren didnt accept ha ass and instead had to be a refugee in kenya. Thanks to @Abdalla for link and yes she said she's half Yemeni. Also, according to her Wikipedia page, it also says she's half Yemeni.

But, she's being presented as a Somali, instead of a biracial person.

I see. But hey, as long as she doesn't have a problem with being called Somali and keeps up the positivity, I guess most of us are cool with her.She is probably half brawani or one of those 'arab' gypsies that have been living in Somalia for generations but still refer themselves as yemeni/arab
