Bunow, hasanow, and all names ending with ow are southern (nick)names. There's no difference between reer NFD and south Somalia. In fact some of my family were born there.

I think the only southerners that northerner seem to be exposed to are abgals because of xamar. But there are a lot of names that are quite different.
