Is it time to give up on Somalia?

We have always been told by our parents that we will return one day and this is not our land but don't you think it's too late? I'm lost hope and interest in Somalia and its problems and I think it's unfair for us to expect and force our 1st and 2nd generation children to have misleading hope What do you think?

No. If the Israelis have held the hope of making a country for themselves despite not having then we can at least make our country safer for our children. Expecting our country to get better without putting in effort to improve it first is stupid if we all went back to help I'm sure it'd be much better.

People with your mindset are a lost cause. We don't need you draining our energy stay wherever you are.

The smaller states and some cities have a future.

But the country is fucked

The Israelis improved themselves for all that time how is that a comparable group?

If China went from one of the poorest nations to a world superpower then Somalis have a chance.

Why should we, look beyond the politics and see the development being made, Somalia now and a decade ago is nearly unrecognizable, don't lose hope, having hope is what makes progress

Never giving hope, impossible to do when you’re a Muslim and you know the creator of all that has and will ever be in existence is on our side. Despair is from the devil.

I will say though we shouldn’t do like some of our parents/grandparents did which is to have our bags packed and not investing in our diaspora life.

we need to play both games with equal effort. Get degrees, get good jobs, buy real estate (here),ensure our political and social representation... AND continue supporting our native home as we can. We may not get to enjoy the fruits of our labour but we have to be people of vision who sow seeds for future generations.

I swear Somalis are a pathetic people sometimes, we get a couple of setbacks and then we say it's hopeless.

Fine, if you think that Somalia is a lost cause. Wait till your host countries decide that you're sub-human and deport you back home en masse.

Far-right nationalism is increasing in the West and the cadaans are realising their mistake of letting in migrants from all over.

I for one would rather die in my ancestor's land than be buried in a foreign man's country.

Gave up on Somalia in 1993 when the USC women ate the Black Hawk pilot, a man who risked his life and left the comfort of his Midwest home to feed the Baidoba famine victims.:mjcry:

1993???

how old are you?!?!? :what:

I was 4 years old in 1993, my earliest memory is basically flashes of gun shots, famine and watching thousands of civilians fleeing in droves with the their luggages on their heads.

I probably have PTSD from the civil war and you guys wonder why I am a Qabyaaliste and dont like reer USC.:pachah1:
