The river thames is polluted and probably smells like shit, its probably not safe to drink tap water in London since the tap water is from that cesspool

"We get most of London’s water from the rivers Thames and Lee. The remainder comes from groundwater that lies underneath London."

Word of advice, never ever drink tap water anywhere. Even if it’s not from a polluted river it has chlorine and other chemicals used to clean the water. I only drink bottled or purified water through reverse osmosis. If I drink tap water it burns my throat because I’m not used to it. Not worth it.

we always buy couple of jirgaan of natural water, tap water is for washing your hands/cleaning utensils. Not for drinking.
