Is Obama one of the most consequential presidents in American history?

Vox puts forward a strong case where it argues that he indeed is one of the most consequential presidents in American history. They believe his strong achievements are his universal 'Obama' healthcare (which great many other presidents failed to get it approved in the past) and his foreign policy. They say it might be some twenty or so years in the future but Americans will look back in history and realize what a good president he's. Do you agree.

In his second term he should have focused on gun ownership. He had nothing to lose, no more elections. Instead he focused on gay marriage, which is still remarkable considering how conservative US is.

I think getting rid of the rights to bear arms would make him legendary.

I don't think the 2nd amendment should be displaced in the constitution. There are a lot of incidents when having a gun has had a positive impact. However, there should be much harsher gun laws.

If you remember whenever mass shooting happened in the US, he talked about the importance of the issue of gun ownership and ways of addressing it. Almost all the time he was opposed strongly by the gun lobby + many of his other opponents in both houses of the US government for the sake of opposing him.

Despite committing certain crimes (mainly the drone killings around the world) and doing what every American president should do on the top job, compared to many other recent presidents at least he had good intentions and achieved some remarkable things that his haters said he couldn't. Now Americans are waking up to the reality of what is to come after him: either the often lying Clinton or the retarded Trump. It's a case of whichever evil you choose, neither is lesser than the other. Well, I am ready to watch how shit will hit the fan come this election, aka the biggest entertainment show in the world once in every four years.

A very good point. I think that same statement borders around what Obama tried to sell to the American people but the powers that be won't have it. Money in politics and powerful lobbyists are what's fundamentally wrong with the US system. Once (and if ever) they get a solution for that then rest will be easy, I think.
