The political settlements of the 2000s are breaking down dramatically due anger of political representation and power of one's clan and subclan in Northern Somalia.
People who lived somewhat cordially together for years are now calling for ethnic cleansing and taking land and property of people from other clans in mixed communities. People also have increasingly taken a zero sum view of economic development and trade seeing one city or region developing as a loss for themselves. The level of hatred is shocking and is reminding me of levels of hatred before large scale civil wars in Sudan, Ethiopia, etc. Due a variety of factors foreign actors will be able to fund and arm groups to further their political goals such as China, UAE, UK, etc.

Does anyone care for these word games? Everyone knows what people are fighting over.

Some institutions are fledgling. SL itself has resorted to making loose qabil militias(yes it was qabil militias in theory but what those kids ij Ceerigaabo by occupying houses looting wasn’t seen before).

and the SSC militias seem to lack structure hence the debacle in Ceerigaabo. These communities were already struggling economically following covid and LA including eastern Isaac btw who have had trade from the east come to a stand still. If there a major clan wars in the Ceerigaabo and buhoodle areas you will see NGOs not come near the place and the lack of development will accelerate for both Isaac and Harti. I don’t see any resolution to this though. You’re about to witness some of the biggest wars in recent Somali History. The elders who use to make peace are now gone and what have you is elders being bribed by mamuls or those who think their politicians.
