My parents told me Dhulbahante have a rich history, and very respected garaads. I mean when PL conference was happening, Islan Mahamad who was the most respected isim at the time among Majerten said we can't open the conference without the arrival of Dhulbahante Garaads. PL respects Dhulbahante, we respect history, we don't respect people based on what they are today because we know you became something due to majerten in 1960 so we see you as our product. Dhulbahante were not. Even all those isaaqs we created them in 60s all of their leaders, all they have today is based on Majerten.

That's why my father SCOFFS literally 'ma isaaq ba igala hadlaysa' or 'hawiye' ayuu igu yirahda all the time, he doesn't have any respect for them because of their history. He does however say abgaal are good people and proud history.

Isaaq did office jobs because they were educated and skill workers.

Sheikh was one of the best schools back then
Silaanyo, Cigaal, Tuur, and Maxamud Axmed Cali all went there

Hargeisa was second capital of Somalia and still is.

How come Bosaaso wasn’t capital of Somalia instead of Mogadishu?
