First of all Sayyid Mohamed was very knowledgeable in the deen and he knew doing takfir on an entier clan is wrong. Many isaaqs fought for the British but many others joined the Sayyid's resistance movement. If I'm not mistaken some if the darwish key commanders were Isaaq so that totally disproves the claim.
It's true though that the Sayyid was pretty harsh against isaaqs in some poetry but the guy was ultimately hostile towards any somali who worked with the colonial forces no matter their clan

The Sayyid was harsh on some isaaqs because they were booty clappers for the cadaans but he was fine with anyone who fought for our freedom no matter if isaaq or any other clan
