After my father told me how small the Somali military was I always assumed somalia needed all the help it can get.

People are disliking airstrikes because civilians are dying. Which can cause more people to become terrorist.

The Somali government wants the US helping with the fight against al shabab. US special forces groups are even training members of the Somali military’s

But what about the people of Somalia. What do the civialians want? I’m pretty sure they don’t want another occupying force. That’s why US is just sending in small special forces unit.

30,000 AU Forces in Somalia since 2007
KDF Forces in Jubaland
U.S and U.K. and various other intelligence groups I the country.

Yet they have failed, because they are part of the problem. I think Somalia needs less foreign intervention

So what should we do about al Shabab? Just let them exist in peace?

What is an effective way of fighting them

Al Shabab can be defeated by well trained and well funded SNA along with the cooperation and support of the Somali people.
Has there been a lot of cooperation and support against the fight. I honeslty don’t know since I haven’t been to the homeland before. Isn’t the US training forces there in Somalia

I read one old article about an air strike that killed civilians because a rival clan gave false info about suspected terrorists.

as long as we are under UN arms embargo we can never buy the appropriate weapons needed.

Western powers prefer the status quo unfortunately.

US have never defeated a terror group. They are more of a problem than a help in all honestly.

The biggest issue is Somali troops aren’t paid or train all that well. The civilian population don’t have much confidence that government will protect them so they don’t say anything, even at times they cooperate with AS.

Things are improving and Turkey is training some troops so we will see what comes out of that

What exactly has western intervention done for any of the muslim countries plagued with terrorism? Even if the group is weakened more problems will pop up. western intervention opens a pandoras box. If you arent gonna learn from your own history look at others sxb.

Somalia needs to be self sufficient and should not be at the mercy of other nations. We need to focus on strengthening our own military (which alx we are starting to do) and not be reliant on others.

You know how on the day of judgement theres the story of how the

"Jew will hide behind a rock or a tree, and the rock or tree will say: ‘O Muslim, O slave of Allah, here is a Jew behind me; come and kill him"

until southern folk start treating alkebab like this and spying, reporting them so they get uprooted, they will not be defeated. If your mother, brother, uncle, dad whatever is alshabab you best report them if you want any future for you or your kids. :kanyeshrug::ohno:
