The number one reason to get married to someone is their level of deen but beyond that, marriages that cause too much fitnah and strife among the people is discouraged. Because Islam values the harmony within communities as it pertains to marriages. So while cross cultural marriages aren’t particularly discouraged, the baggage that it tends to come with is very much discouraged.

Now if you’re a Muslim in an area where there’s only a few Somalis and it’s hard to find a suitable wife/husband then of course go ahead and marry a good women/man on the deen outside of the culture, but context matters. In 95+% of cases it’s much better and easier to get married to a good and pious Somali sister/brother in the west.

It makes sense, but I would say that growing up in the same culture despite being of different ethnicities has a big impact.

I know the pious predecessors mentioned this due to the ignorance and prejudice of the average human being. So it makes sense!

This would not apply to people of high moral, intellectual and spiritual development despite their ethnic/ racial background. As they have grown above and beyond the petty prejudice and squabbles of the average person.

I would agree but I'm very lucky to have my Somali wife; she has a mix of the cadaan/Filipino mindset. Her selflessness and caring nature makes me compete to be more selfless and caring.

These are the Salaf and companions and they do not speak from their desires except what the prophet was upon. Aint no way this munfiq just tried to treat the saying of the companions and salafs as not part of the Deen.
