Tjioux
the pussy is never yours, its just your turn.
If today the Government of Somalia asked me, what would you do to unite Somalis of Somali Republic, my answer would be two things have to be done more than anything and those two things despite their challenges will lay the foundations of unbreakable unity for hundreds of years to come.
EDUCATION AND JOBS, ACADEMIA, INTELLECTUALS
A) We set up an academy, facility, a hub, a platform in Mogadishu that targets the youths of the North.
- It addresses their education needs including issuing scholarships, enrolling them in both local and international universities
- Creating them jobs in the south both in private (sponsorship companies) and public
- Accomodations and transportations
- Platform for them to hold annual discussions, space to communicate any disgruntle, disadvantage, unfair treatment or resentment they may have.
These youths will become what change views in the north because they will eventually become the elite, middle class and future leaders as long as government-funded institutions they attending not only surpass anything in the north but achieve global recognition.
At least $200m is needed to invest into universities and technical institutions. The likes of Turkey, Qatar, Kuwait and even the UAE should be approached to provide funding, technical experts and even teachers so as to once again lift Somali higher institutions ranking in the region and in Africa at large.
Equally welcoming students from the neighboring countries as so to export Somali education should be a long term vision. Universities should be equiped to help bright students to launch their own ideas and businesses by not only enabling but co-funding.
If these are achieved, no northern kid will stay away.
INFRASTRUCTURE
B) This one probably needs huge capital but I am sure China would be happy to help.
- There needs to be call for the construction of railway system in Somali Republic. The idea should be that we need a train that runs from Kismayo to Borama but if it can go from Mogadishu to Galkayo, that's a major step and the other phases can be added over the decades to come.
When we address the infrastructure challenges, we will see Somalis that move easier and freely. That movement, mingling and 'seeing beyond their village' will solidify the grounds for unbreakable unity.
Today China is building railways all over Africa and I am sure they can see the need, vision and why even for themselves a railway in Somalia will be handy.
These are two things I would pursue if I wanted true unity.
Education, livelihood and infrastructure connectivity are the seeds to unity and stronger community.
It is my dream for Somalis to have a railway system---The Somaal. I call on the likes of Mr Aynte, The Heritage Institute, to draft paper on why Somali Republic needs the Somaal and the nomads are rallied behind what could be the biggest legacy for the Somali kids to inherit.
