Its not a zero sum equation. You can have a economy that tourism contributes to in some form and still have it regulated and also enforce strict laws for it.

A lot of countries have tourism constituting a large part of their economy and they control it with an iron fist too.

We cannot just throw away large sums of money we can use to build our insdustrial bases with.

Tourism is good money but they just need to keep it away from main towns. Do islands instead like this one koyama, Bajuni etc. I can accept all the other stuff if it’s bringing in good money
