Kowdheh regarding Mogadishu

@KowDheh my grandfather just sold his House in xoosh Medina to a prize of 400000 dollars i think Mogadishu is the only place on Earth where there is no logic behind the condition of the city and the House prizes. I know xoosh used to be the best neighborhood but Still the city is destroyed and yet those prizes are going around. What is the explanation ? I am going to join the family Business Operating between Mogadishu and Dubai so i am moving to Mogadishu next month to join the Local Office there Send me a PM sxb if you are visiting the city this summer . ? It will be Great i will have my own Villa House maid

Mogadishu is ridiculous honestly I think they're ripping diaspora off. They'll charge as much as they can and the prices rise every year because a busy new hotel or restaurant will open on the site of an old house. But on the bright side I think the city will become the next Marrakech.

Most people own their homes or live with family. There isn't a big enough market to make rents competitive so they over charge. That Safari Apartments charges $1000 so if you're getting a house with a generator for that much it's not bad. The past 5 years nearly everything in Xamar became Western price.

Its just Crazy since the salaries in xamar are 3 World for the Locals. But good thing is that security is relative good now in Mogadishu.

I stayed in Wabeeri district on september last year, the rent of a 4 room house was 400 dollars.

After a month, I got back to hargeisa and rented a villa for bashaal for just about 300 with 6 rooms, a garage and a great view of the city.

Yes buy land. The quality of construction will improve when there's peace. But the cost of building will increase too. If you're feeling adventurous I'd suggest a small factory with that money. Either oil factory for sesame and peanut oil for exports/hotels or a fruit juice factory for hotels. You'll make your money back in 6 months.

It was more of a business trip but never thought it would also be an ideal place for pleasure.

Hope I get back to Mogadishu very soon. Reer Waqooyi are loved in xamar walaahi, I came there thinking these Hutus will talk shit about Isaaqs/Somaliland but it was the opposite. I was a regular customer at places like Royal, Casablanca, Beach View, there's also these dance halls at these Shisha spots and one night I asked them to play that Maryal Mursal song (Waa Somaliland) and they did, they jokingly said let's respect the qaldan boy's choice.

Mogadishu has potential sxb, but personally i didn't think it was time I put my money on it yet. I have talked to lots of business people in xamar and heard stories of how if you outsmart your fellow rivals in the business they'll put a hit on you and blame it on Alkabaab.

Xayd there are opportunities but you have to supply different demands. Don't compete with established businesses when you have all these neglected sectors to cash in on. I couldn't believe that a chicken farm wasn't already in operation until a few weeks ago. Imagine all of the other opportunities you could tap into.
