Land prices in somaliland

I wanted to buy some land in Somaliland. I have no idea what the prices are like but i definitely want to build a nice house maybe the size of an average American house since will hate UK shithole house sizes. I spacious land so it can hire someone to landscape my land and make it look nice.

Ha anyone bought a house in Somaliland? What is the average cost for some plot of land?

Your sub clan?

Where do you want to live?

>Has anyone bought a house?
My mum built up her plots in star and the airport earlier this year for about £150k (8 and 10 plots respectively).

>Protips
-Bring in paints, sealants and architectural designs from abroad, everything else can be sourced locally for a decent price/quality
-Do not trust family members with the build (uncle got finessed by his dad/uncles)
-Only hire oromos for landscaping work, they're incompetent builders.
-Get your house wiring/plumbing done to western standards.
-Do not leave till it's finished.

Truthfulness so often goes with ruthlessness
Hargeisa land prices are ridiculous specially anything closer to city, the outskirts of the town say about 10 minutes drive would be around $4-10k lol

Burco is pretty cheap
Berbera is dirt cheap
And borama I am not too sure

But I have seen people buying land for 800,000 USD in East Hargeysa albeit was big plot enough to build a hotel but nonetheless just mind blowing that people are paying that

In my opinion the land prices should be decreased

Buying land cost even more than building a house

I don't think 800k plots exist in Hargeisa however they do in Mogadishu. It is normal to see a plot selling for 300,000 - 1 million.

One thing I find odd is the water goes on and off and when it’s off people use

This one or water tanks

I been to hargeisa on and off since 2004 to 2018 and people still use these barrels

Construction companies will build a house to the standards of the west but when it comes to flowing water you will be just like everybody else have to rely on a man with a donkey or have a guy with a water tank on speed dial

Water is a big problem in hargeisa it’s crazy

I have been to Hargeisa and the place is just screeming for help outside of the uptop areas like Maslaha/JJ yar, I saw homeless, dirt roads, polluted air, plastic everywhere the list goes on. I don't even know what the mayor does in that city, if you want land avoid Hargeisa at all costs try Berbera, Burco,Borama,Ceerigaabo etc :kodaksmiley:

There's also that woman without hijab smoking in the pavement close to the theatre I wonder who she is and whats her story :cosbyhmm:

That's disappointing. We have lots of untapped water aquifers and yet the government has their priorities missplaced. We need a water drainage system also. I don't want my land to get flooded.

800k :eek::ftw9nwa:

The most expensive sides in Hargeisa are Jigjiga yar where all the qurboojoog go and surrounding areas (xaafada Xero Awr, badacas) which is considered West Hargeisa.

Masalaha & dumbuluq (East Hargeisa) is nice but it's relatively new compared Jigjiga yar and no where near as busy. Their building that xaafad up but I wouldn't put it in the same land brackets as West Hargeisa.

If you own land near the doowlad somaliland, the price off land goes up significantly. Land goes as high as 80,000 for a jago.

Burco is my favorite city in Somaliland its booming these days :diddyass:
Burco looks nice Hargeisa could look good if the mayor wasn’t useless and that the government got misplaced priorities recently they got chosen to host the conifa football tournament which is countries who aren’t recognized playing competing with each other

Now they building a stadium

I guess Building roads and fixing the water issue isn’t important as building a football stadium to host a tournament nobody even cares about
