This is from 2014 Two major droughts have happened since then so I’m not sure how accurate this is today

50 million livestock is crazy. If we used that properly our economy would go to the moon. All those camels, sheeps and goats and one of our biggest imports is pasteurised milk. Come on man

We need to introduce ranching and restrict nomad activity to certain regions and zones those damn nomads are the reason why our land is barren.

Hiraan and bakool camel population is mostly owned by the Gaaljacel clan they sometimes have skirmishes with neighboring clans over grazing lands.

I wasn’t expecting Gedo, Hiiran and Bakool to have the most camels. Are those regions less urbanized than the rest of Somalia, with more people living nomadic pastoral lifestyles than other regions?

Gedo is very urbanized when compared to other provinces of its size but it still retains its nomadic population.
