Longest coastline in the continent

Yet we have only several coastal cities why? I wish more of our cities were on the seaside, especially cities like Burco, Borama, Erigavo, Gaalkacyo and more.

Our people hardly access our beaches, meel aan bad lahayn iyo dabaal waa iska faaido la'aan.

We got a 300km untouched coastline from Berbera to Xiis. Karin and Conkor used to be booming towns like a 100 years ago, Karin even had a little port so we could trade easily with the Arabs and tax the Ogadens and Dhulos when they shipped their camels and goats to the Arab peninsula. We used to be coastal people very much till Hargeisa and Burco became propper towns and we came down of the mountains.

Reer Somaliland need to step up and invest in coastal towns.

What amuses me more is that we have so many people starving when we have access to an abundance of fish. Are people just too prideful to eat fish? :farmajoyaab:

They are starving and 90% will not even bothering going to the sea for fishing, it's facts only 15-20% of the population eat fish, the rest pf the pops eat bariis and baasto , suqaar, hilib etc daily.

Waar dadkeenu bada way ka baqaan ama maba fahansana faa'idada ay leedahay, ilaahay ayaa inoogu sheegay quraanka 'laxman darriyan' ayaa bada ku jira ee kasoo cuna.

Because that lifestyle requires a lot of innovation, hard work, brain storming, endless of building military hardware and as you know geeljire love to live with his 4 wives in half sticks half mud house.

Somaliland's coastline is too hot to sustain a large population without Arab style urbanisation.

Erigavo is only 60km from Mait so it basically is on the coast.

All of our cities and population shouldnt be on the coast tho really posses a risk with climate change looming, and yea its silly we cant fish but other nations come to steal our fish.

We lost decades in development due to dictatorship and warlordism.

Fishing could have become our significant revenue source at the very least. Somalia really needs to get out of the arms embargo and build a Navy.

Amisom is scheduled to leave Somalia by the end of 2021 and the SNA to take over. I hope it means arms embargo lifting as well.

Before 1927 biggest PL towns were all on the coast all of todays big towns were mere settlements back then unfortunately Systematic destruction by warships and wars that followed forced entire populations to move in lands that been said I believe it should be a priority to revitalise coastal towns and promote coastal way of life it’s a shame to loose that culture getting stuck with only geeljire one. Also many of problems of droughts and hunger would be nonexistent if geeljires were taught to eat seafood which for some reason they really dislike even throw up by the smell of fish:ftw9nwa:

N&N bot,Amison is not going aywhere, A.S is much stronger than it was when they first arrived, SNA can't take over and or able to secure Banadir let alone other regions.

Bunch of glue sniffing ex-tribal militias and mooryans on drugs are not in a position to take over the whole south, Amison will be here and will still collect their fat checks while fondling with our women, this is the reality and Somalia is a money cow for Amison.
