In the West, Somali women hardly marry legally and even when they do, they don't file for it. Their husbands have to talaq them or they need to get Khula from the local Sharia centre. We are Muslim, we can't use the gaal courts to officially divorce us. So, what is Xaliye talking about? Why is she conflatung the Somali community with the cadaan one?
2ndly,Somalis are mostly lower middle class or working class. Most of them dont even pay child support let alone alimony.

Absolutely, move back home and save your future lineage from cycle of welfare, poverty and the inevitable bac madow when she uses “xaquuq gaalo” to kick you out. In Somalia your wife will listen to you and be very kind without “daddy govt” stepping in. It is very condusive to a successful marriage for the man to play his role efficiently without interference.

There is no real courts to protect women In Somalia. What happens upon divorce? As a man there are no consequences. You can refuse to support her and the kids ect.
That is unIslamic. Marriage is a contract. The Islamic courts have a right to get involved and women can petition their rights. The idea of getting married with no one involved isn't from Islam. It's from redpill.
Many women back home are already living in poverty. Very normal to see a divorced 18 yr old with a child. Her family would have to support that child or she would have to give that child to her husbands side of the family, even though the child is a baby and needs the hooyo.

Thanks for proving my point. Brothers and fathers is not enough. People need legal protection in which they can go to the Qadi. What happens if her brother and father are dead, weak or not around?! What happens if the man refuses? The brother and father would have to fight him which would end up in dire consequences.
Would you feel protected if you couldn't go court but you had go rely only on family members? For things like your house and land ect? No. Marriage is like any other legal institution.
