I want every somali culture that doesn't go against islam.

Our cultural clothing can be adopted to be more modest. It doesn't need to end because some parts of them were not modest. Other cultures adopt their fashion to many ways. We don't gotta through ours out the window just because it's not modest

Those colored looking macawiis was not the type of macawiis our ancestors wore...the ones they had were white and less extremely colorful...and the style was different too, the old version(which was more somali) wasn't very low to the point of almost touching the ground...this new version that people think is wat our people used to wear on the bottom now called macawiis comes alot more from outside influence and less somali based...yall gotta educate yourself on our culture and history of it or dont even try to comment on it and spread misinformation

People wear macawis for different reasons, but a Somali Bantu brother brought to America through the refugee resettlement agency found one 'good' use for it.

Since he was new to the country and couldn't speak English, he found an easy way of communicating with girls that he was interested in, especially the ones who lived nearby his house:

No need to wear underwear around the house; he just had the macawis on, and as soon as the girl who live nearby looked at him, he would just drop the front side of the macawis while he was facing her.

That should tell you the good use of macawis if you live in America and can't speak English. It lets you communicate with girls so quick and up to the point.

Oh wow interesting.. that's makes it even more pitiful that we use their adapted version of the macwiis (considering it was essentially influenced by us)

Culture is the basis of the development of the nation! And such a developed culture as Somalia sets an example for many other cultures!
