Liberal Islam sounds lame. It sounds like a new ideology. What they should insist on is going back to the true principles of Islam as outlined by scholars down the ages: freedom, liberty, and tolerance for all. Cilmaniyya is the only acceptable form of government. Mustapha Akyol's book Islam Without Extremes sheds light on this. It is the Saudi heresy which is the new ideology. Salafis were punished severely by Islamic governments in history. These German folks need to align themselves with that anti-Wahabbi mainstream.
