I think dahabshiil is trying to move out of the remittance business and into conventional banking. Which is a smart move for them.

With all these online companies coming up it will be hard to make money from remittance fees anymore.

Dahabshil should focus more on investment banking instead.

Definitely, banking is the way to go for dahabshiil but they should expand to east Africa at least. The Ethiopian market is a great place for them to start

They're already officially based in Djibouti so I don't see why they can't expand to Ethiopia and Kenya to become a major regional bank.

There's some major opportunity to be had for Somali graduates in investment banking.
