Minister of Foreign Affairs releases a statement, 1P1V will go on.

The last joint statement by the IC ( and don't think its fair to called them international community when in reality it's only us/eu and their allies ) was really soft with no mention of sanctions or aid cut .
and I don't think Deni or Madobe will come back to Mogadishu anytime soon.

Mogadishu – The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), Canada, Denmark, European Union (EU), Finland, France, Germany, Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, and the United Nations are deeply concerned by passage on 12 April in the House of the People of a resolution to replace the 17 September agreement with an electoral process that will result in a lengthy extension to the mandates of the President and Parliament.

We have repeatedly stated that a parallel political process, partial elections, or new initiatives leading to an extension of prior mandates will not be supported.

The 12 April resolution undermines peace, security, and stability in Somalia and beyond. This resolution will also further delay holding the credible elections awaited by the Somali people.

We are convinced that implementation of the 17 September agreement remains the best available course of action and so urge Federal Government and Federal Member State leaders to return urgently to talks to agree on a way forward. We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, continue dialogue, and avoid unilateral actions that may inflame tensions.

We stand ready to provide good offices to facilitate and revitalize inclusive dialogue on the basis of the 17 September agreement.

Strong response, they must have a contingency plan for when pressure from IC starts.

In the second page they go in on the International Community :whew: :mjlaugh:

FGS appreciates international community's continued support but will reject any attempts to use the humanitarian
assistance to blackmail the country and advance their hidden agenda.

The Federal Government of Somalia calls upon the international partners to reconsider their position on
this monumental decision made by parliament. Failure to this, the Government of Somalia will explore
diplomatic avenues available to protect her sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence."

I think they know it's a bluff,
the "IC" can't afford not to support the FGS , they will not support a parallel government, doing so will destabilize the whole country which only benefits the terrorist alkabab.

Depends if their policy changes, they could go Syria/Yemen style and support a militia that tries to take down government.

In Yemen they're supporting the internationally recognized Government,
and in Syria they are trying to overthrow the government,
both the Syrian government and the Houthi rebels are allied with Iran , that how they justify it.
but in Somalia it's a different story, they helped create the FGS , it will look bad on them if they started supporting a rebel group against the UN recognized government.
