All of the land listed in the article is in Laikipia, just 1 of the 47 counties in Kenya. Millions of acres, or 75%, in a single county owned by white people who come there once every few years. Simply unbelievable!!

I deleted the comment because I realised if civil war didn't take place Siad Barre would still have been in power and he was against these things. You are right, it probably is possible with this failed government.

This is why no matter what it is best to be lead by a leader who loves his own people and is patriotic and protective of his country. Even if he is psychotic - - it is always better than a puppet who is a yes-man for the Western powers.

Waa runtaa. I only singled out Westerners because to some people they can never do wrong and any intervention they make is good. To be honest the whole of Africa is being descended on by the Arabs, Turks, Chinese and Westerners, all under the guise of 'investment'. Truth is, the average Somali will never see any of these returns. They are just taking our land and our 'leaders' are happy to give it away for a big enough pay cheque.

The Kenyatta family alone own land as large as all of Western Province, close to 1 million acres.The current president and his family are apparently the biggest thieves of land. Here he is in 2013 talking about how he owns "only 30,000 acres" in some county.

Actually he did allow them to explore for oil but later turned it down due not being able to take credit for because Abdullahi Isse was the one who got the deal to the table, that deal would very much have been needed as the country was mired in extreme poverty.
