Its still a valid question though, how about you answer her question instead of accusing her of jealousy? You sound jealous of women who have the choice to wear it or not. Leave your toxic environment

Personally, I wouldn't cover up if a man told me to. I only cover up because Allah told me to.

Mashallah abaayo may allah guide us to the straight path, I face many temptations myself but I remind myself of the hereafterI started to wear the hijab on my own at the age of 8. I read Islamic books to gain knowledge. I even teach my family what I have learned. I'm not perfect at all but I'm trying to better myself.

Masha allah thats good, especially since you live in a country where most Somali's aren't practising. Good on you. It's true, growing up my father wasn't religious, I had somali friends in my elementary school and their parents would take them to their local mosque.
I use to be sad that my dad didn't take us,I had a passion for the deen.
So I use to ask my Somali friends to get me books on prayer and other Islamic books I could take home &read.
Dayoothism is getting out of handThere are many Muslim men who don’t like their wives to wear the hijab because he can’t show her off to his friends and to society as a whole. Not all Muslims are practicing they’re are many secular Muslims too. Men from Tunisia, Lebanon, Turkey, Eastern Europe etc are most likely to prefer that way.

It depends how you were raised if your mother and grandmother didn’t the wear hijab in their homeland then what makes you think their sons would want modesty for their wives?. Arab world is much more relaxed compared to Somalia only Saudi and Iran force their women to wear the hijab.Dayoothism is getting out of hand
