My brother's swimming instructor is a halimo

Holidays are over and everything is back open this week after a long 10 months of hard lockdown.

My youngest brother have been going to a swimming school for 6 years straight (swimming is deeply embedded in Aussie culture) and spent the majority of the last 2 years being with a halimo instructor. Yesterday when the place finally opened, I couldn't believe I heard from him that she is still there teaching.

Anyway, I was against it at the start but after watching him being taught by her in the pool and whenever my hoyoo wants a proper "no nonsense" cadaan instructor, he always insisted so you could clearly see he is determined to stay longer, thanks to her.

What made me change my views is realizing the effort she puts in to teach everyone while wearing a thick diving suit and hijab, and maintaining her perfect body...compared to about 95% of the halimos who are whales with walking abnormalities and do nothing. She is also my sister's teammate in soccer so about 50% of her daily activity is physical.

So, looking all that, I have nothing but DEEP RESPECT for her (still, she should be taking female only classes instead of full of cadaan teenage boys, imagine how much she would earn if she opens her own private classes for muslimahs??).

I can't help but wonder why can't all Muslimah be like that? Go to gyms, exercise, be trainers like her, eat clean so you can be the PERFECT FEMALE SPECIMEN. Instead of walking around obese in public spaces EVERYWHERE and becoming stereotypical because of this. How hard is it really?

Xalimos can’t swim so how did she get the job?
It's a mandatory for junior schools to have swimming programs so she most likely extended her lessons at young age and use that opportunity to take the job. There are 2 of them working there.

I was just going to ignore this but whatever
Firstly, a lot of Muslim women are discouraged from going outside for reasons that are besides school and work this includes physical activities outside. This is mainly because of the high rate of sexual violence against women and because of the lack of separate women spaces. So apart from a few activities that are women-only like weddings Muslim women don't really have a choice in what they do in their free time outside.
You could say well why don't they open women-only spaces but disregarding the costs you'd have to put in a lot of effort to set up these spaces that might not even be used because as with most 'new' stuff, people need to adjust.
So basically it's just unrealistic of you to expect women who don't have the resources to set up these spaces to make women-only spaces so obviously these women will just adjust to open spaces. I don't know about other women but I take judo lessons and I don't go to a women-only place because there aren't any in my general vicinity.

I'm sorry to say this but most of what you said is an excuse. Female only gyms and segregated sport places has been a thing for a long time. Even they're much easily accessible in 2021 as women are now strongly encouraged to participate in physical activities.

That's good to hear. Keep looking around, eg; gyms that offer female gyms will mostly have their own physical (boxing etc) classes as well.

Well I was gonna say I would guess it’s as hard as not looking like skeletons, scorched corpse with biiijo pasto no matter how much food you’ve been fed even while residing in the West and then I remembered I don’t argue with children nor do I voluntarily feed trolls. Better luck next time kiddo!

@Regg female only gyms are not widely accessible for everyone. Also a lot of female only swim classes in London have male instructors which defeats the purpose. Instead of shaming women try to think critically about the reasons why and not jump to conclusions. :mahubowtf:

It's not an excuse it's an explanation.
